The Road Ahead for IX Solutions

Written by Chris King, Vice President & Partner

These past few weeks, many of us have been setting goals for the year—both personally and professionally—and reflecting on the successes and shortcomings of the seasons past. For us, the new year brings with it excitement and optimism surrounding industry partnerships, new and existing customer relationships, and internal initiatives. Today, I'd like to share some insights around the journey ahead for IX Solutions.

Reflecting on our learnings and transformation

Over the past year, IX Solutions has undergone a great transformation. We've always been laser focused on our customers and their critical business outcomes—a core value that's led to our success thus far. However, in the early days of our company's existence, our strategy was to tackle most any customer request or project. Admittedly, we struggled with some of these tasks, learning as we worked through the growing pains of a tech startup.

While this strategy helped IX Solutions grow to where it is today, it presented challenges as we grew. With these learnings, we knew we needed to build out our internal processes and remain focused on our areas of strength. While we originally considered ourselves a professional services firm, today we find ourselves working with customers in an ongoing capacity and supporting their IT environments beyond project-based engagements. Supplementing our customers' IT team has become a core part of our business, so we're re-organizing our processes and people around that shift.

Meeting customers where they are with Managed Services

In conversation with customers and IT leaders across the board, we're seeing gaps in operational requirements that are adding stress and pressure to IT teams. Repeatedly, we've had leaders relay the difficulty of finding and hiring the right skills in today's competitive job market. Often, teams need specialized expertise for a 3-month or 1-year engagement, making it difficult to justify hiring a full-time employee.

We're committed to helping alleviate those pressures, which is why we're expanding our offering to include integrated Managed Services. As an extension of your IT team, our hope is to put valuable time back in your hands—reducing day-to-day maintenance and monitoring so your people can remain focused on driving strategic initiatives.

So far, these services include:

  • Security Monitoring Services

  • Backup as a Service

  • Server & Desktop Patching

  • Infrastructure Maintenance Services

Our premise is to help you "build your own IT team"—meaning if you require project-based networking specialization for six months, we will assemble a team of service staff with the unique skillset you need to get you where you need to go.

In the coming months, we hope to solidify these offerings and roll them out in a more concrete manner. For now, our people will continue to work passionately toward your success—and that includes a commitment to remaining flexible, adaptable and attentive to your unique needs.

Thank you for staying on this journey with us. Wishing you all the best in 2023!
