Welcoming Eddie Moncada, IT Consultant
We are excited to welcome Eddie Moncada to the IX Solutions team as an IT Consultant! Eddie is sure to bring a rich blend of expertise and passion for IT to the IX team.
From his hometown in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, to his current home in Calgary, Eddie's journey in IT has been marked by significant roles—the most recent of which was as an IT Analyst at a local law firm where he focused on Security Operations. His responsibilities spanned endpoint and application hardening, deploying Microsoft security solutions, creating and managing vulnerability programs, and much more. Prior to this, Eddie independently consulted for businesses in the dental and motorsports industries, offering comprehensive IT solutions.
When it comes to education, Eddie is a self-led and lifelong learner. He boasts a robust portfolio of certifications, including CompTIA’s A+, Security+, and CySA+.
“IT is a passion!” he says. “Continuing Education is very important to me, and a lot of my learnings have come from self-led studying and personal projects in my home lab. As I prepare to join the IXS team, I am currently focusing on completing Microsoft certifications. My goal is to pass the CISSP within the next two years.”
At IX Solutions, Eddie’s primary responsibilities will involve implementing and managing IT solutions with Microsoft technologies, providing top-notch technical support, and enhancing our clients’ security postures. He is passionate about simplifying complex technical concepts into business terms, which forms the foundation for lasting relationships with clients.
“The favourite part about my job is the opportunity to learn about so many different areas of technology, and how it all comes together in the bigger picture,” says Eddie. “I absolutely love working on complex issues, and the gratification it brings to discover the root cause of a problem. There is no better feeling than making clients happy, helping them understand how certain things work as well as what best practices are, and ultimately improving their business using technology.”
Eddie is particularly looking forward to working alongside our team of seasoned IT professionals. Having often navigated complex IT challenges independently, he values the mentorship and growth opportunities that come with our collaborative environment. He’s eager to contribute new ideas and forge lasting friendships within the team.
Outside of his professional life, Eddie is an enthusiastic outdoorsman and adventurer. Whether mountain biking, snowboarding, or fly fishing in Alberta and BC, he loves spending time in nature. At home, he enjoys reading, gaming, and watching tech and educational YouTube channels. He and his girlfriend, along with their Border Collie, Ellie, are a tight-knit family unit that cherishes active and engaging lifestyles.
